If you’re missing one or more teeth, dental implants may be the perfect long-term solution to restore your smile, confidence, and quality of life. At Q1 Dental Care, we’re proud to offer high-quality dental implant solutions using the latest technology and techniques to ensure your comfort and satisfaction every step of the way.
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are small titanium posts that are surgically placed into your jawbone to act as artificial tooth roots.

Although there are many types of implants, the types can be divided in two basic groups.
- Those that are inserted into the bone.
- Those that are placed over the bone.
In both instances the implants are placed under the tissue and extended into the mouth.
Once healed, they provide a stable foundation for a crown, bridge, or denture, offering a natural look and feel that closely mimics real teeth.
Unlike dentures or bridges, implants are permanent and do not rely on adjacent teeth for support—making them one of the most durable and effective tooth replacement options available.
Discover the Benefits of Dental Implants
Permanent. Natural. Confidence-Boosting.
At Q1 Dental Care, we understand how important your smile is—not just for eating and speaking, but for your self-confidence and quality of life. That’s why we offer dental implants, the modern and long-lasting way to replace missing teeth and restore your smile for good.
Here’s why more and more Australians are choosing dental implants:
Look and Feel Like Natural Teeth
Dental implants are carefully designed to blend in with your smile. Once placed, they look, feel and function just like real teeth—so you can smile, laugh, and eat without a second thought.
Built to Last
Unlike traditional dentures or bridges, implants are made to last. With good care and regular check-ups, they can serve you well for decades—or even a lifetime.
Keeps Your Jawbone Healthy
Missing teeth can lead to bone loss in your jaw over time. Implants stimulate the bone—just like natural roots—helping maintain your facial structure and preventing that ‘sunken’ look that can happen with age.
Eat the Foods You Love
Crunchy apples, juicy steaks, or your favourite Aussie snacks—dental implants let you enjoy them all with confidence and comfort.
No Impact on Neighbouring Teeth
Unlike bridges, implants don’t rely on other teeth for support. That means your healthy teeth stay untouched and protected.
Easy to Care For
No special products or routines needed—just brush, floss, and visit us for regular check-ups. Simple as that.
Boosts Your Self-Esteem
There’s nothing quite like feeling proud of your smile. Dental implants can restore more than just teeth—they can restore your confidence and quality of life.
The Dental Implant Procedure
At Q1 Dental Care, we take a personalised approach to every implant case. Here’s what to expect:
Initial Consultation
We start with a thorough assessment, including X-rays or 3D imaging, to evaluate your oral health and determine if dental implants are right for you.
Treatment Planning
Dr Susan Leonera-Salazar will design a custom treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals, discussing all your options and answering any questions you have.
Implant Placement
During a minor surgical procedure, the titanium implant is placed into your jawbone. This is done under local anaesthetic, so you remain comfortable throughout.
Healing and Osseointegration
Over the next 3–6 months, your implant will naturally fuse with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration. This provides the strong, stable foundation needed for your new tooth.
Restoration Phase
Once healing is complete, we attach a custom-made dental crown, bridge, or denture to the implant—restoring your smile and function. Patients are given the option to choose from a screw retained crown or cement retained crown. Dr. Susan Leonera-Salazar will discuss all these in detail during your initial visit.
What to Expect During Healing
It’s normal to experience mild swelling, discomfort, or bruising after implant surgery. These symptoms usually subside within a few days. You can return to work the next day, depending on your comfort level and the complexity of the procedure.
Healing time varies per person but typically takes 3 to 6 months to allow full integration of the implant with your bone.
Post-Implant Care Instructions
Proper aftercare is key to successful healing and long-term results. Here are some post-operative instructions:
Rest and Recovery – Take it easy for the first 24–48 hours. Avoid strenuous activity.
Pain Management – Use prescribed or over-the-counter pain relief as recommended by your dentist.
Diet – Stick to soft foods and avoid chewing directly on the implant site. Gradually return to your regular diet as advised.
Oral Hygiene – Keep the area clean by gently rinsing with saltwater and brushing the surrounding teeth carefully. Avoid brushing the surgical site for the first few days.
Avoid Smoking and Alcohol – These can delay healing and increase the risk of implant failure.
Follow-Up Appointments – Attend all scheduled visits to monitor healing and prepare for the final restoration.
